“Nothing Is Impossible with God” Luke 1:37

When is the last time you read versus 36-37 in Luke chapter one? If you’re not familiar with the story, an angel appeared to Mary and told her she was going to have a baby. The story could have stopped there and that would have been more than enough of a scandelous miracle. But God doesn’t stop there. His heart is so tender and so compassionate for the soul of women who long for motherhood that he includes versus 36-37. The angel goes on to tell Mary that her cousin Elizabeth, described as old and barren, was pregnant! The story could have easily just been about the miraculous conception of Jesus but it wasn’t. It was that important to God to make sure and include that even when you’re labeled as old and barren, nothing is impossible with God!
Your medical report might be bleak. Your bank account might be depleted from years of pouring into this dream. Your age is advancing and your hope may be hanging by a very thin thread. These might be the facts but, let me remind you of the truth – the truth is that God is still the God of the impossible.
